Task managers have it backwards.

Hey there,

Most productivity tools on the market promise you the same thing – that if you capture more, organize more, and keep up with more, you'll finally get everything under control.

I've always believed this is backwards.

When everything starts from an inbox, you're riding in the passenger seat. Your work starts from "what's there," not from "what actually matters." You process things, organize things, prioritize things. You feel busy – but not necessarily any closer to the future you want.

And yet – you can start from a different question: What do I actually want? What are the few things that actually matter in the coming months? It takes time to answer. But when you finally have it, everything else starts to fall into place.

That's why I built Hyperfocus – a planner that helps you commit to what matters, say "not now" to everything else, and make real progress on goals that are actually yours.

If this resonates – I invite you to try Hyperfocus. Download the app, play around, and see if it fits.

Hyperfocus method

A goals-first way to work

  1. Goals
  2. Weeks
  3. Days
  4. Focus blocks

Your plans, connected to what matters.

Stay focused on what matters most by connecting long-term goals to your weekly and daily plans in one workspace.

Second opinion on your goals and plans.

Hyperfocus AI reviews your goals and plans as you write, flagging vague outcomes, unrealistic scope, and missing next steps. Apply the feedback yourself – or work through it with an assistant built for goal-setting, prioritization, and planning.

Your next step, always clear.

A quick weekly and daily planning ritual narrows everything down to one clear next step – so you can spend less time deciding, and more time doing.

FAQ

If you can’t find the answer to your question below, email me [email protected]

Is Hyperfocus really free? What’s included?

Yes. Hyperfocus is free forever. There is no Pro subscription, paid plan, or pack of AI credits to buy.

How does AI work? Is it also free?

All AI features use third-party AI providers. A small amount of usage is included, so you can try them without setting anything up. Once the included usage runs out, you can connect your own OpenRouter account, add a few dollars, and pay as you go. You pay the provider directly. I don’t take a cut or make money from your AI usage.

What does Hyperfocus AI do, and can I use Hyperfocus without it?

First, Hyperfocus AI reviews your goals and plans as you write, flagging vague and unrealistic plans. Like Grammarly, but for planning.

Second, it includes purpose-built planning skills that help you clarify your priorities, choose what matters, and break goals down into workable steps.

AI is optional. You can use the planner without it.

Which operating systems does Hyperfocus support?

Hyperfocus is currently available only for macOS.

How is Hyperfocus different from a task manager or to-do app?

Most task managers start with an inbox – they are great at helping you collect and organize tasks.

Hyperfocus starts with your goals. It is great at identifying the outcomes that matter most and helping you consistently make progress toward them.

Where is my data stored?

Hyperfocus is local-first. Your goals, plans, and tasks are stored locally on your Mac, and the planner works offline.

If you use AI, the parts of your plan relevant to your request may be sent to the third-party AI provider handling it, such as Google or OpenAI. For the included AI usage, requests are sent under a no-logging policy.

If you connect your AI provider, that provider’s logging and data-handling policy applies.
